Ink or Inkless Camouflage, Which is Best For Me?

Intro

In the world of Paramedical Tattooing, there are two different methods to improving the appearance of your stretch marks. Ink Camouflage and Inkless Camouflage. Both serve their purpose, and in this blog we will dive into what they are, what to expect, how they work, and which treatment is right for you based on your skin.

What is Ink Camouflage?

Ink Camouflage is a tattooing technique that involves using skin tone colored ink to conceal and reduce the appearance of stretch marks. The ink is custom blended to your natural skin tone.

While this sounds like the preferred option, there are a few things you should know prior to consideration.

  1. The ink used to camouflage stretch marks has some titanium dioxide (not a lot), therefore you cannot laser over your treated area.

  2. Your stretch marks have to be pale/white and flat to be eligible for this service to be able to camouflage effectively.

  3. You may require touch ups - as ink fades with any kind of tattoo.

  4. The ink is used to match to your natural skin tone, therefore if you happen to tan often, you may need to hold off so there is a even color contrast.

What is Inkless Camouflage?

Inkless Camouflage (AKA Inkless Technique/Inkless Treatment) is an alternative to using ink. With this method, we are treating, not concealing your stretch marks. A special blend of natural skin rejuvenating serums are used instead to help promote cellular turnover, collagen & elastin production to repair your stretch marks from the inside out.

This is a safe, more natural approach which delivers permanent results. This treatment helps:

  1. Any type of stretch marks from white, to red, purple, or even brown.

  2. Helps improve texture - which most people have as well as producing melanin back into their skin (your body’s natural skin color) therefore reducing the appearance naturally.

  3. Doesn’t matter how “old” your stretch marks are, they do need to be a minimum of 3 months.

  4. Works for any skin tone, from pale white to dark skin.

  5. Just one session alone can help reduce up to 50% of your stretch marks

  6. Relies on your own skin’s ability to heal

Healing Process - What to Expect?

The Inkless Treatment and Ink Camouflage are non-invasive, so there is no downtime.

For Ink Camouflage: The healing time can vary depending on the size of the area and individual healing abilities, but it typically takes several weeks for the skin to fully heal. There is after care provided so its important to follow them.

During the healing process, the skin may go through various stages, including redness, scabbing, and peeling. It's essential to avoid picking at scabs and to keep the area clean and moisturized.

As your stretch marks heal, they may initially appear darker than the surrounding skin, but they should gradually fade to a more natural-looking tone once the healing is complete.

For Inkless Camouflage: The treated area may experience some redness or minor irritation, but it should subside within a few days.

Clients are usually advised to follow aftercare instructions which include utilizing the aftercare oil (we provide at no additional cost) and avoid excessive sun exposure during the healing process.

Your stretch marks may initially appear slightly darker than the surrounding skin within the first 21 days, but they will gradually fade to a more natural tone as the skin heals.

Which is Best for me?

If your stretch marks are flat and white with no texture at all, then camouflage tattoo would be a great option for you.

If your stretch marks are textured, doesn’t matter the color, then the inkless camouflage treatment would be a better option for you, or if you are looking for a permanent, natural solution. In my experience, I would say about 90% of people prefer and need the inkless treatment.

I personally LOVE that the inkless treatment is more inclusive, and a safe natural approach. The results are impressive.
